Doomsday Engine. Is a program to play a real good games whom aren't sold anymore, and you can get free options online to download. The program give supports to such games with 3D graphics and good definition and can be configured each game by its side.
Old DOS games of first-person "shooters style" such as DOOM, Heretic and Hexen, work with this free emulator under good quality in modern systems, including Windows 7. This is what makes this program, (also available for Linux, Ubuntu and other OS). At the time of testing, this emulator supports the following action games: Shareware Doom, Ultimate Doom, Doom, Final Doom: Plutonia Experiment Final Doom: TNT Evilution, Doom 2, Chex Quest, HacX, Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders Heretic Shareware Etc.
At first requires pay attention a little to knowing how it's used, see the available options and stuff, but for my taste is excellent for the collection of free games. Even I explain a little more.
Download main program for charge the games (emulador).
From this link go download the games for install ... or you can search on Google such as "Ultimate Doom".
What you download is a ZIP file, It's extracted and installed. Don't worry about setting, because the emulator Doomsday Engine deals about it, is also because you'll playing from there, not from the game itself installed. Once installed you must adding inside the Engine with the wizard from the same place and try to select the executable. The wizard is highlighted by way of example in the image below, and already has two games installed (in screenshot), that's why they appear. Also, I let you a video sample from the game.
